New leak detector for checking two safety valves before and after burner operation, with adjustable measuring time to adapt to different test volumes, leakage rates and inlet pressures. The TC is used in industrial thermoprocessing systems, on boilers and on forced draught burners.
TC 1, TC 2: For gas solenoid valves, fast-opening or slow-opening with starting load.
TC 3: With attached auxiliary valves for fast or slow opening gas solenoid valves, also for motorised valves. The function is only guaranteed within the specified limits, see page 10 (Technical data). Any other use is considered improper use. Other TC tightness controls are also available on request!
Technical data TC 1, TC 2, TC 3
Electrical
Mains voltage and control voltage: 120 V~, -15/+10 %, 50/60 Hz, 230 V~, -15/+10 %, 50/60 Hz, 24 V=, ±20 %.
Power consumption (all LEDs green): 5.5 W at 120 V~ and 230 V~, 2 W at 24 V=, TC 3: additional 8 VA for an auxiliary valve.
Miniature fuse: 5 A carrying H 250 V according to IEC 60127-2/5,
F1: Protection of the valve outlets (terminals 15 and 16), storm signal (terminal 12) and supply of the control inputs (terminals 2, 7 and 8).
F2: Protection of the safety chain/enable (terminal 6). Input current at terminal 1 must not exceed 5 A. Max. Load current (terminal 6) for safety chain/release and the valve outputs (terminals 15 and 16): with mains voltage 230/120 V~, max. 3 A resistive load, with mains voltage 24 V=, max. 5 A resistive load.
External fault signal (terminal 12): Fault output with mains and control voltage 120 V~/230 V~/24 V=: max. 5 A, fault output with mains voltage 120 V~/230 V~, control voltage 24 V=: max. 100 mA. Switching cycles of the TC: 250,000 in accordance with EN 13611.
Unlocking: via a button on the device or via remote unlocking.
Environment
Gas type: Natural gas, town gas, liquefied petroleum gas (gaseous), biogas (max. 0.1% H2S by volume) and air. The gas must be clean and dry under all temperature conditions and must not condense.
Inlet pressure pu: 10 to 500 mbar (3.9 to 195 ‘WC).
Measuring time tM: adjustable from 5 to 30 s.
Factory set to 30 s.
Media and ambient temperature: -20 to +60 °C (-4 to +140 °F). No condensation permitted.
Continuous use in the upper ambient temperature range accelerates the ageing of the elastomer materials and reduces the service life.
Storage temperature: -20 to +40 °C (-4 to +104 °F).
Max. Installation altitude: 2000 m above sea level.
NOTE:
If the TC3 is to be used as a replacement for the old TC318 leak detector, the terminal assignment must be changed:
Terminals 1-4 and terminal 6 remain the same,
Terminal 1 (old) = terminal 5
Terminal 5 (old) = terminal 10
Terminal 7 (old) = terminal 12
Terminal 11 (old) = terminal 8
Terminal 12 (old) = terminal 11
